Since then several more words have come to my attention.
Men should not use the following words:
- Adorable -- this one is borderline and in some cases could be acceptable. I said could. Around your wife or girl friend, maybe.
- Veggy -- first of all, it's a vegetable and that's not that difficult to say, and second, you don't need to be talking about something that doesn't matter to you.
- Share -- as in your feelings. Feelings are meant to be suppressed. That's what manhood is. Deal with it. Sharing is okay when referring to money spent on your grandchildren.
- Baby Bump -- this is to me the fingernails on the chalkboard phrase of the year. If you are using it stop, somebody's slipping estrogen into your cocoa puffs.
That's all for now. Thank you.

I'm happy to know that someone else hates the term "baby bump."
Baby showers are not for men. As for "gender reveal" parties, gimme a break.
It really does make me cringe. Thanks.
I'm guilty of using the word yum. I did a quick search on my blog, and used it 3 times (not counting YUM brands - which owns Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut). My wife uses that term a lot, and I guess I succumbed. I'll mend my errant ways in the future :-)
I like the word share - as in share information. We use it in business all the time. But feeeeeelings - yea, *that* I'm not going to do!
I'm clear on the others - and I'm proud about the fact that I've never even heard the terms baby bump or gender reveal.
RJG -- glad to hear we could assist.
:)
I had forgotten that there was a YUM brand.
Wow, this is a great post! Absolutely right. I especially like the Ron Swanson-esque condemnation of "veggy."
Someone needs to keep a running list (cum commentary) of these words.
Thanks for the comment TC.
It's true that the almost universal use of "veggie" instead of "vegetable" bothers me no end, it is also true that the secondary thought is directly taken from Mr. Swanson.
I am keeping a running list and am happy to take suggestions.
