Street-level restaurant and retail development continues southward with the opening, in the fall, of Grace Restaurant just north of the Fort Worth Convention Center. Grace will offer "Modern American Classic" entrees in the $20 - $30 range.
From a restaurant press release:
"In what has become Fort Worth’s most anticipated restaurant opening of the year, GRACE owner Adam Jones is pleased to announce that Blaine Staniford will serve as executive chef of the restaurant. Staniford is one of the region’s most celebrated chefs, known for his inventive cuisine, and appearing regularly on “Good Morning Texas.” He has also been featured on the “Rachel Ray” show."
". . . Adam Jones is pleased to announce that Martin Thompson has joined the GRACE team as executive sous chef. For more than a decade, Thompson has been the executive chef at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House in Fort Worth, and was an integral part of Del Frisco’s expansion into the Denver, New York, Las Vegas, Charlotte and Houston markets."I hope we see restaurant and retail development continue that way, and it will if these two conditions are met: Fort Worth Convention Center growth, which looks more promising after the Sheraton $50 million renovation and the up-coming Omni Hotel completion, and a steady increase in apartment and condominium occupation. As this happens the center of gravity for night life could shift southward in years to come.
Regardless, good luck to Grace. I look forward to trying the ribs and salmon.
