Years ago, my wife and I had the good fortune of visiting Santa Fe for a few days and loved it. Great local restaurants, small hotels with fireplaces, shopping, art, mountain vistas. And for me, old churches, Santa Fe, has some beautiful and historic ones.

Love, love, *love* Santa Fe. Took myself there for a week, back in spring 1998, to celebrate finishing my associates degree. Santa Fe + Taos = Heaven.

Weird - the wife and I just returned from Santa Fe for the Memorial Day holiday. We go every year (not always Memorial Day, but sometime - it's about a 6 hour drive south from Denver). Love the place. And great food. Green chile's... yum!
And, oh yes, almost always pair it with a quick visit to Taos (or sometimes Albuquerque)
