Rocco's Pizza.

I think I need to get out more often.

My son told me about Roccos' Pizza off Camp Bowie, so I looked it up online and discovered that it is doing fairly well in the local reviews. And I had never heard about it.
  • Rocco's has won 10 Best in DFW by Food Critics.
  • Best of Fort Worth Weekly.
  • Best in Fort Worth by Fort Worth Magazine.
No offense to these fine publications but we think the readers of Food & Fort Worth are the best judges of good pizza.

So here's the challenge should you choose to accept it. Rocco's Wood Burning Stove Pizza: the real deal or just another pie?

Rocco's is really good. I've only had it delivered and the crust was not too thick or too thin and still slightly crispy (not soggy), the toppings I had were fresh buffalo mozzarella and basil. This place is definitely several steps above the average pizza place. I love the super fresh toppings.

Rocco's is fabulous. Definitely not just another pie.

if you want a great pizza with grown up toppings (no offense pepperoni and cheese) Rocco's is the place to go. It is expensive but well worth it. I know that they promote the wood-burning oven but my thoughts go immediately to the toppings offered. When we pick up a $5 CiCi's pizza for the kids we pick up a "real" pizza at Rocco's for the adults!

Rocco's is good! Probably the place we go to if we're in the mood for pizza. We had a spinach, goat cheese, sun dried tomato, and prosciutto pizza and it was tastey.

$21 gets you a wood fired pizza delivered with salad (for 2) and desert. Not a bad price at all. I wouldn't say it's expensive at all.

There's also Palio's Pizza Cafe near the west side of the Hulen shopping area and they make a mean pizza as well. Now *they* are overpriced for what you get...

I've eaten at the one that used to be in Arlington, and it was excellent. Will put this on my list.

It's 10:30 at night and now I want pizza. I'm starting to think this blog is a near occasion to sin for this preggo woman ;)

Lizzie -- Didn't you know that pizza is a transcendental. It's like truth and beauty, and how can they be lead to sin?

Dustin, Josie, Ashley, cdees, Jake, Lynn -- thanks, you made it official, Rocco's goes to the top ten. Announcement soon.

I really like how dynamic the food is here in Fort Worth, where we can *actually* change our favorites often enough :)

My huzah for variety consumes me (in food, careers, and life in general)...

We ran by tonight. It was quite good - perfect sauce and great crust - crisp but not overly so. Thanks for the recommendation!

Jake -- I agree and next time you change to something you like -- think post.

All you have to do is go to there web sites award page and look at that pie coming out of their wood fired oven and you'll be sold, it tastes just like it looks, "great"
