A Good Steak.

A
Star-Telegram
review of twenty restaurants in the North Main Street reminded me of a place I have not visited in a long time -- but well deserving of mention. I am referring to the one and only M & M Steakhouse.

Now, don't go looking for their website (they don't have one), nor should you go driving out there on my recommendation without first reading a little bit more.

If you do go make sure you write down the address and bring it with you, if you don't you'll miss the sign and the building and wonder if you are in the right place.

The first thing you ought to know is that nobody at the M&M is taking courses in "How to Win Friends and Influence People," or Feng Shui or anything of the like, as a matter of fact, modernity has yet to darken their doors, unless you consider a juke-box modern. Also to know: you may just have to seat yourself, no one will place a napkin on your lap, the bathrooms are clean but a really big man may have a hard time getting in -- and you ought to know what calf-fries are before you get there and consider eating them is as normal as eating a hamburger.

That being said, I loved M&M Steakhouse for what it was, a good steak, cold beer, an old juke box and a waitress that calls you "hon", as in, "What can I get you hon?"
