Coming Soon: The Cowtown Marathon

The Cowtown Marathon is great local event. It's a legitimate Boston Marathon qualifier and it's in Fort Worth.

If a marathon or half-marathon scares you off, try the 10k. If you can't run the 10k, walk it. Or the 5k. I promise you will enjoy being downtown with thousands of runners and spectators. Can't walk or run too far these days? The marathon is always looking for good volunteers.

February 23, 2008. Good Luck.

I ran the half a few years ago and plan on doing the 10k this year. It is a great event, with good spectators, good food, and free beer at the finish. For a real good time, stand at the finish line for the kids fun run - always a hoot.

Yea -- I forgot about the beer. I've done the 10k and my goal is to do the whole 26. I just love being down there.

Doing a marathon is an experience that every capable person should experience. I ran my first in November up in Tulsa, and it is an emotional journey as well as a physical one.

I encourage you to pick a good race, and train for it - it will be worth all the early mornings and long runs.
